The Director General added that the census is designed to enable persons who have attained the voting age (18 months) and to identify, have birth certificates that allow them to prepare maps of identity for registration on the electoral register and participate in the presidential election scheduled for next June 06.

Mohamed Fadel also said that the census relates to persons born before 1998 and could not take advantage of the 2005 census, 2003, 1998 and 2006 for objective reasons such as residence outside the country or the absence of supporting civil status.

He also called on those concerned to be in the headquarters of Commons in which they are fitted to their old birth certificates, birth certificates of their fathers and their mothers from RANVEC 1998, two passport photos if possible, or acts of births of brothers and sisters of people involved, from RANVEC 1998.

In this context, the general manager of the national tourist board has reaffirmed that persons who do not have the pieces of status or of their ancestors can not benefit from the census to obtain a certificate issued by the committee chaired by local administrative authorities, stating that the office premises of status will be enhanced by mobile teams who will target remote areas and difficult to access later defined by the walis.

He warned people against any attempt to help a people attempting to illegally obtain spare parts status, indicating the effects of present and future that this could lead, stating that the Office has taken all necessary measures to meet the additional administrative census oriented civil status to allow all Mauritanians to achieve their right to vote.
