General Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, President High Council of State, Head of State granted an audience Tuesday at the presidential palace in Nouakchott Mauritanian former parliamentarians.
At the conclusion of the hearing, and on behalf of former MPs, Mr Abdallahi Ould Ahmedou Salem made a statement to the Agency information Mauritanienne in which he stated that the Head of State has honored this hearing which resulted in a frank and sincere discussion and useful.
Mr. Ould Ahmedou said that the group of 150 former MPs was reached, "in response to a situation analysis, the conclusion that the country does not currently going through a crisis but seeking a national consensus, however reached at General statements on democracy, to resolve its problems. These general statements were, he said, marked by an atmosphere of dialogue that enabled participants to achieve a roadmap that called for the election of a President of the Republic ".
He also stressed the support of former parliamentarians to the roadmap and their unanimous support and accompany the High Council of State under the chairmanship of General Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, head of state in all enterprises that it is desirable to solve the problems of the Mauritanian people. "
Mr. Abdellahi Salem Ould Ahmedou also recalled that "he who follows the country's political history can not fail to take the true measure of the important role played by the former parliamentarians who have accompanied all stages of development of the Mauritanian State ".
And clarify that the former MPs condemn the decision of the African peace and security that has wrongly assessed the situation in the country "and welcomed the suspension of diplomatic relations with Israel.
