The President of the Republic receives the South African Minister of Defence |

The president, Mr Sidi Mohamed Ould Cheikh Abdallahi received on Wednesday at the presidential palace in Nouakchott, M. Gerard Patrik Mosiuoa Lekota, South African Minister of Defence, currently visiting our country.
On leaving, the South African minister said that he has conveyed the greetings of President Thabo M'Beki the Head of State Sidi Mohamed Ould Cheikh Abdallahi after the meetings that took place between the two heads of 'State, they told me the mission to meet with my counterpart to prepare for the coming phase of cooperation between Mauritania and South Africa.
"Yesterday (Tuesday, ndlr) I had an interview with my colleague Mauritania" and today it was with the President that I had to refer to "the various issues raised with the minister." "We have informed the Head of State that we had an agreement on several issues and will see how we are going to put it all out."
I informed the President he continued, that I invited my brother and friend the Minister to visit South Africa to attend the event euroshop Africa "in September, an opportunity for us to show our Host different businesses we have.
