Angolan head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, met separately Sunday morning in Lisbon, Portugal, with the president of Mauritania, Sidi Aballahi, and with the Federal chancellor of Austria, Alfred Gusenbauer, with whom he discussed issues concerning bilateral cooperation.
The meetings were held on the fringes of the Europe/Africa summit taking place since Saturday in the Portuguese capital city.
The Austrian chancellor said that the meeting with the Angolan head of State served to discuss unilateral and multilateral matters concerning the southern Africa region's politics, in view of the role Angola plays in the region in its capacity as chair of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) Defence and Security organ.
The source said that during the meeting with José Eduardo dos Santos the host party invited the Austrian counterpart, Heins Fischer, to visit Angola.
In his turn, the Mauritanian leader would not speak to the press.
